We spent Easter weekend visiting Blackpool. We took my parents on Good Friday, stayed with them until Easter Sunday, left them there and returned for them the following Wednesday. We stayed at the Lyndene quite a large hotel on the seafront. The hotel has recently been the subject of a takeover and the new owners have made a good job of renovating the reception area. I presume they will move to the bedrooms after the illuminations season as they are quite tired looking.
The food in the dining room, we always choose the upstairs one, was very good. The staff all work hard under the direction of the matre de Brian. Easter eggs for all guests on Easter Sunday was a very nice touch.
The hotel has an organist and bingo most afternoons and three acts each night. The best by far was Jimmy Cricket, he is still very funny.
There are plenty of communal areas, little out of the way areas to read the newspaper or watch tv and more public areas to socialise. The hotel has both Sky and BT sports.
We opted for the all inclusive drinks package and felt we weren’t out of pocket. My parents had the bar credit and they certainly got value for money. Both of these packages must be organised during the original booking and cannot be added on later. Please note these offers are not available every week.
The hotel is a supporter of Donna’s Dream House, they carry out fundraising activities and sell their own unique bingo dabbers.
There is a small car park to the front and a few parking spaces to each side.
All in all we would recommend the hotel.
