We visited two new places at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed both of them.
The first delight was a placed we’d actually seen on an antiques tv program. Bar Antiques is a series of large ‘sheds’ packed to the rafters with antique and collectible items to meander around and purchase. There were several general sheds and a vintage clothing shed, there’s also an array of items situated outdoors. A tea room in an converted 1965 Albion Carnival truck is very quirky, we had a lovely cup of tea and a slice of cake, the lemon cake was particularly good. The tea room even has a traditional burner to snuggle up to on colder days. We actually spent a good while wandering around reminiscing about some of the things we used to have, some we would like now and were annoyed at those we have disposed off that are now worth quite a lot of money. Apart from tea and cake we purchased a mantle piece clock and a vintage mirror.
All in all a good time was had by all – we will be back!
Bar Farm Antiques is situated in Barmby Moor, Pocklington. YO42 4HS.
The second place we visited was a little tea room – Birkin Fisheries Tea Rooms. The building is like a posh shed with a conservatory and decking. The inside is beautifully decorated and has a quirky vintage feel. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and we sat outside and had an English breakfast with tea and toast each. We bought cake to take home too. The food was good and the service excellent. Will definitely visit again.
Look this place up and visit I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
