    Make it happen

“Take your future into your own hands. Make it happen. Life is a colouring book, but you have the pens.” Taken from a fiction book I read on holiday. My (not so) Perfect Life Sophie Kinsella It’s your life make if it what you want. Use today to begin the rest of YOUR life. If you are unhappy do something about it. Decluttering

To remove excess mess. What does decluttering actually mean to people? To me it means parting with things you no longer need in your life. Whether that be items in a wardrobe, shoes in a shoe cupboard, perishables in the kitchen, kitchen equipment bought and used once (go on root it out of the back of the cupboard and let someone else give it a new lease of life), freeing your brain/mind of things you no longer need to think about leaving space for future ventures or decluttering your personal life by removing people you once thought were life partners and now are most certainly not. You will feel a great sense of achievement when your tasks…

Recently Kate talked about visiting her poorly mother in hospital and as a hospital visitor myself I could relate to her some of her words. I finished the crossword with my dad, discussed the weather, conversed about my work day and what he had had for his tea, and when all…

    Communication

My quote today should be my own: “Put it away.” but I found a much better one to get my point over. “Communication works for those who work at it.”  John Powell. Jesuit priest and author The reason for my quote is related to a couple of incidents I noticed recently. Recently we were at Wetherspoons having breakfast when I observed (I’m a people watcher) a family of three, one female adult and two children around 8 to 10 years old. During the twenty minutes or so I observed them not one person in the party communicated. The children were busy with paper activities provided by the chain and the…
